Legend has it that when St. Gens was born, his mother died of childbirth. This legend is at the origin of a curious tradition, which is still fulfilled today, according to which a pregnant woman who wants to ensure that she is going to have a successful delivery should sit in the “Chair of St. Gens”. This marble chair is guarded in the Nossa Senhora da Monte Hermitage, in the parish of Graça in Lisbon, erected on the Monte de São Gens, where St. Gens was supposedly martyred.
Our history is based on this name Saint Gens, we are born and raised in this parish, our apartments are very close to this place, and nothing like a tribute to all women who give birth. Do not miss the opportunity to sit in this mythical chair of San Gens and take advantage of all the other points of interest that connect us to this place.
